Uluwatu Temple & Kecak
The clifftop temple and its sunset fire dance — unmissable.
Destination · Bukit Peninsula
The Bukit’s dramatic edge — limestone cliffs, world-class surf, hidden white-sand coves and a clifftop temple where a fire dance plays out over the sea at sunset.
Why Uluwatu
Down on the southern Bukit peninsula, Bali turns wild and vertical. Sheer limestone cliffs drop to turquoise water, surfers chase legendary breaks, and tucked into the rock are some of the island’s most beautiful little beaches.
Crowning it all is Uluwatu Temple, where the Kecak fire dance unfolds at golden hour. It’s a spectacular base for couples and surfers — we run the temple, the beaches and the sunset from here.

BukitLocal tips
Dry season (Apr–Oct) for clean surf and clear sunsets; swells are biggest mid-year.
Sights are spread along the cliffs — a private driver is by far the easiest way around.
Uluwatu or Bingin for surf, Pecatu for clifftop resorts and pools.
Wear a sarong at the temple and mind the monkeys, expect steep beach stairs, and book Kecak seats ahead.
