Kintamani · Sunrise hike
Summit an active volcano before first light, watch the sun rise over the caldera and Lake Batur with coffee in hand, then wind down through Kintamani's coffee country — all with a guide who climbs it every week.
Placeholder scene — final hero = real photograph of the Batur summit at sunrise.
Overview
We collect you from your hotel around 2am (yes, early), drive up to Kintamani, and start the climb in the dark with head-torches and a guide who has summited Batur hundreds of times. The pace is relaxed — no rushing, no big convoy.
You reach the top before the sky turns, settle in with hot coffee and eggs warmed in the volcanic steam, and watch the sun come up over Lake Batur with Mount Agung beyond. The walk down is easy and bright, with time for photos and, if you like, a soak in natural hot springs.
Your driver collects you from the south or Ubud and heads up to Kintamani — about 1.5–2 hours, so you can doze in the car.
Meet your local mountain guide at the trailhead and set off by head-torch — a steady pace with regular breaks.
Arrive at the top (1,717 m) before sunrise and settle into a good spot as the sky starts to glow.
Coffee and eggs steamed in the volcano while the sun lifts over Lake Batur and Mount Agung beyond.
A bright, scenic walk down past the crater and old lava fields, with plenty of photo stops.
Soak in natural lakeside hot springs, or skip straight to the drive home — your call.
Dropped home by early afternoon, with the rest of the day free for a well-earned nap.
Moderate — about 2 hours uphill on a rocky trail. Average fitness is fine; no experience needed.
Closed shoes, a light jacket (it's cold up top), water and your camera.
We watch the forecast and move your date free of charge if the summit is clouded in.

Reviews
We’re new, and we act like it — the founders still run every tour personally, and nothing about your day is outsourced or resold.
After your tour we’ll send you one link. Write the truth — good or bad, it goes up unedited. That’s how this section gets built.
Anything not right on the day? Message Ayu directly while you’re still in the car. We fix things in minutes, not in email threads.
