Two days in the Bali the crowds skip.

The north is the Bali most visitors never reach — cooler air, clove and tangerine country, lakes in old volcano craters and the island's tallest waterfalls. This two-day run takes you over the highlands and down to the black-sand coast at Lovina, where the dolphins pass at dawn.

It's a trip of contrasts: a temple floating on a mountain lake in the morning, the island's tallest waterfall by noon — then a night swim through glowing plankton, boats out among the dolphins before sunrise, and cliff jumps at Aling-Aling on the way home. You'll sleep in Lovina so everything happens at the right hour, without the 4am drive from the south.

North over the highlands

Lake temple · Sekumpul falls · glowing plankton

We leave around 7am and climb into the cool of the highlands, stopping at Ulun Danu Beratan — the temple that seems to float on Lake Bratan. Then it's down the north slope to Sekumpul: seven falls in a jungle amphitheatre, the tallest at 80 metres. It's a real staircase workout, and worth every step. Check in at Lovina, and after dinner we head out for the strangest swim of your life — through bioluminescent plankton, like wading into the night sky.

Dolphins at dawn & Aling-Aling

Sunrise boats · reef snorkel · waterfall jumps

Out on a traditional jukung boat before 6am, when pods of dolphins cross the calm water off Lovina — then a snorkel over the reef in the early sun. After breakfast we head to Aling-Aling, where the brave jump from 5–15 metre falls and everyone rides the natural rock slide. Home in the south by early evening.

Can we change the itinerary?

Completely. This is a starting point — add days, swap stops, upgrade hotels or slow the whole thing down. We'll rework it with you before you pay anything.

What standard are the hotels?

The base price uses lovely 4-star boutique stays with pools. Tell us your budget and we'll quote anything from simple guesthouses to 5-star resorts and private villas.

How and when do we pay?

No big upfront deposit. We confirm everything on WhatsApp, hold your dates, and you settle by bank transfer or card close to arrival. Hotels are pre-booked by us.

Is this good for families?

Yes — we run it for families all the time with child seats, gentler days and family rooms. If you're travelling with kids, take a look at our Family Bali package too.
