Nusa Penida East

The quieter side of Nusa Penida — the sweeping Diamond Beach and Atuh cliffs, the Thousand Islands viewpoint and Teletubbies hills, with far fewer people and just as much drama.

Overview

Diamond Beach and the wild east, minus the crowds.

Most day-trippers pile onto the west loop, so the east stays blissfully calm. We take the early boat and head straight for the Atuh area — the white crescent of Diamond Beach below sculpted cliffs is one of Bali's most jaw-dropping sights.

You'll take in the Thousand Islands viewpoint, the rolling Teletubbies hills and a swim where the water's safe, all on your own schedule with a private 4WD and a guide who knows which stairs are worth the legs.

Good to ask

Nusa Penida East — your questions

West or east — which should we do?
West has the famous Kelingking; east has Diamond Beach and far fewer people. If you've seen the west or want it quieter, choose east.
Are the stairs really that steep?
Diamond Beach has a steep carved stairway. The clifftop views are stunning without going down, so it's your call on the day.
Is it good for swimming?
Atuh is the safest swim; we pick spots based on the tide and conditions.
Is the boat included?
Yes — return fast-boat tickets and a private 4WD on the island are both included.
How do we pay?
No prepayment — pay on the day, free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
